A great symbol of this is the "Hyakkeizu: One Hundred Sceneries of Tsuwano from the Edo period”, designated as Japan’s National Heritage, containing 100 paintings of the Tsuwano feudal domain about 160 years ago. In this 3 hour electric bike cycling tour, we will discover Tsuwano by plunging into the world of the 100 Sceneries. Cycle along Tonomachi Street, the main street of Tsuwano, with your guide.
Learn about the history of the shrine and the hidden stories of the Tsuwano Hyakkeizu, a series of 100 paintings depicting scenes of Tsuwano in the late Edo period, which has also been recognized as a Japan Heritage site.
Explore a hidden waterfall spot, learn about Tsuwano's history, and practice simple meditation.
Discover the stories behind the large joyato (stone lantern) and the baba (horse track) where the Yabusame (horseback archery) ritual takes place.
Enjoy the rural landscapes surrounding Tsuwano Shrine and learn about the stories of the former lords of the Tsuwano domain.
