In this valley is located the most important find of the lady of Cao, female ruler in the time of the Moche and who today becomes a female symbol of government and leadership in ancient Peru. Her body was found with gold and silver jewels that show her rank and social status in Mochica culture; but the most striking and dazzling thing is her completely preserved body and that still sport her tattoos of snakes and spiders. About Trujillo
Trujillo is a colonial city on Peru's north coast, with colourful mansions, the vast adobe ruins of Chan Chan and the reed-boat beach of Huanchaco.
Trujillo lies on Peru's arid northern coast, founded by the Spanish in 1534, and its centre keeps a grid of colonial streets around the Plaza de Armas.
