Ablauf
When you arrive at St. Peter’s Square, you need to pass through a metal detector before entering St. Peter’s Basilica. The Tomb of Saint Peter is located beneath the basilica.
St. Peter's Baldachin is a monumental Baroque canopy designed by Gian Lorenzo Bernini and completed in 1634. Made of bronze and rising above the main altar of St. Peter’s Basilica, it marks the traditional site of St. Peter’s tomb and serves as a dramatic focal point of the church.
The Tomb of Saint Peter is traditionally believed to be the burial place of Saint Peter, one of Jesus’ twelve apostles, located beneath St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City. It is an important Christian pilgrimage site and is associated with the origins of the basilica.

About Rom
Top-ranked sights in Rom: Colosseum, Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel.
