  1. This museum is replica of pre-historic settlement. You will be able to see the wooden pile-dwelling settlement and get familiar with the life at the lake from the period of about 3000 years ago. Remark: the museum is closed on Monday, so on Mondays we just pass by the museum without stopping there.

    20 Min.

  2. Church of St.Naum is 10th century church that used to be the first hospital in the area, founded by St.Naum. In the later centuries the church has been rebuilt, but the grave of St.Naum remain original, and as per the legend you can hear his heartbeat from his grave. In the area are located the springs of "Crn Drim", attraction by themselves with the crystal clear water coming under the mountain Galichica from Lake Prespa. There are small rawing boats that you can take for a tour through the springs. There are nice restaurants too, and beach area where you can swim and sunbathe at the lake.

  • 4Nice but a bit cramped on top deck

The cruise is nice but the tables and chairs on the upper deck are cramped and there is literally no room to walk invetween the tables and chairs. The 3 hours at the monastery is a nice amount of time to see the attractions without being too long or too rushed.

A great adventure, highly recommended. You can learn a lot of great information. We managed to get in with a Polish group, so the guide spoke with interest. The views around are wonderful

  • 4Good value for money but a bit cramped and not enough time for the archaeological museum

It’s good value for money - much cheaper than the private cruises. However, it’s cramped on the top deck, the design of the chairs is ridiculous leaving no space to move about. Also there is only half an hour at the first stop which is not enough to go round the archeological museum

  • 3Was a good experience...

Was a good experience however the same with the sunset cruise they offer, felt slightly overbooked for the size of the boat as everyone is seated upstairs on the deck squished together rather than split between the two levels. Staff were nice and friendly. The timing were not great however, at naum is a very small area and 3 hours felt too long as there are only 3 restaurants and very few shops. Bay of bones is shut on Mondays which is advertised however you pay the same amount to not go and have your day cut 40 minutes short as we went straight past on the boat without stopping for a look.

  • 4Worth the day trip!

Great your for those that like venturing on their own! There is enough time to explore the sites on the itinerary and go swimming in the lake! The lakefront has rentable chairs and umbrellas but bring your own towel. You can purchase drinks/snacks from nearby shops. The monastery and springs are worth the visit. The boat ride was very relaxing. Enough seating up stairs. It gets very hot in the afternoon and there wasn’t enough shaded spots for all of us. Downstairs wasn’t air conditioned despite the tour advertised as such. That’s my only criticism of the tour.

About Ohrid

Ohrid is a lakeside town in North Macedonia on one of Europe's oldest and deepest lakes, with a hilltop fortress and Byzantine churches.

Ohrid stands on the north-east shore of Lake Ohrid, which North Macedonia shares with Albania and which UNESCO lists for both its nature and its culture. The old town climbs a hill from the water to Samuel's Fortress, and the church of St John at Kaneo perches on a cliff above the lake. Frescoed Byzantine churches, among them St Sophia and St Clement's at Plaošnik, record the town's role as a centre of Slavic learning.
