Ablauf

1. Bay of Isola Bella: the most iconic spot of the Pearl of the Mediterranean. Covered by lush vegetation, this small island was declared a nature reserve in 1990. Here we will stop for the first swim of the day and you will be able to snorkel independently.

2. You will admire the enchanting Grotta Azzurra, famous for its mesmerizing light effects (from the allowed distance).

3. With Capo Taormina behind us, we will stop at the Bay of Villagonia, where you will enjoy a stunning view of Mount Etna, Taormina and Castelmola. A tasty aperitif will be served on board with local products preserved in oil, bread, cold cuts, cheeses and fresh seasonal fruit, accompanied by excellent local white wine, produced by Emilio Sciacca. There's also the possibility to have a light lunch (from 12.45 to 15.45).

4. On the way back to Giardini Naxos, you can also admire the iconic San Domenico Palace -Four Seasons Hotel, famous for having hosted the filming location of the popular series White Lotus.

• 5Amazing sailing experience in Taormina!

  My wife and I did a private sail with Lucrezia. She was a very knowledgeable and friendly captain. She moved around the boat with ease and allowed us to experience sailing the boat. She instructed us in sailing and also was a tour guide of what we were seeing. After stopping for a swim she made us an incredible light lunch! I would book this again in a heartbeat! I didn’t find it through TripAdvisor, but through a diffeeent tour company that took a broker fee. I’m still glad that I got to do it!!

• 2Sailboat Excursion Taormina

  The directions to the meeting point and parking could have been simpler and more specific. A specific landmark such as Angelina’s restaurant would have been helpful. Unfortunately, after taking the dinghy to our sailboat, the sailboat motor belt broke and we had to go back to shore. Lulu was very kind and tried to accommodate as best as she could considering the circumstances.

• 1They cancelled on my family of 7 last minute when we were at the meeting point....

  We booked this excursion about 1 month in advance. After booking and paying for this excursion for the 9am departure, we were contacted by the company to change our departure time to 12:45pm as apparently the 9am departure was already booked and we should not have been able to book it. That was not a problem for us and we were happy to delay our departure time to 12:45pm. We were contacted again by the company a few days before the excursion and then again the morning of the excursion to confirm, which we did. We arrived at the meeting point where we were supposed to meet the skipper for the boat and waited for 30 minutes before deciding to contact the company to inquire about why the skipper had not arrived yet. They informed us that the skipper was there and was actively searching for our group of 7 (they confirmed we were in the right meeting point, and I can tell you there was absolutely no one that matched their description that was there searching for our group, so this was obviously a lie). We got off the phone and a few minutes later, they called me back and advised me that the skipper had not informed them that she was sick until right then in that moment, and unfortunately they had to cancel the excursion. This was after we took a 50 euro taxi to get to the meeting location in another city than where we were staying, with my family of 7 which includes my grandparents of 86 and 88 years old. They apologized and I understand that the skipper being a no-show was unexpected and not in their control, but this was a major inconvenience to my family of 7, we were out 50 euros, and then had to take another taxi to get back to where we were staying, and this was a 2 hour chunk out of our day during our vacation. After discussing with the company, they did offer me a free boat tour the next day and a full refund for the cancelled excursion, but I had zero faith that something like this wouldn't happen again, and did not want to waste another few hours or more money to go through the same thing. We accepted the full refund and asked if there was any possibility of them compensating us for the 50 euro taxi we took to get there, and they replied by asking for our bank info, and then stopped replying all together. We were not compensated for our wasted time or money for the taxi. We received the full refund for the cancelled excursion at least, but the whole experience and the extreme last minute cancellation left me feeling very disappointed and frustrated. Ultimately, I know things happen with employees that can be outside of a company's control, but I have completely lost my trust in booking online excursions as this is my third experience like this. If I were you, I would book in person when you are at the location. There are plenty of options for excursions in person when you arrive, but I personally would avoid this specific company as they are unreliable.

• 1Horrible communication and customer service! Do not tecommend!

  We were scheduled for 430 pm sunset cruise and arrived at 355 pm … no one at meeting location still at 425. Started looking around and adking others …ran all the down to marina and lady at testaurant kind enough to try and help . No one knew tour operator and helped me call. Tour operator statedthey called me 4 times around 2pm… no missed calls!! No text received.!! Spendt $ $40 eoros 1 way to get there and another $40 to get back. I am now $80 out and no sailing!!! Terrible experience and do not recommend!

  The trip was absolutely fabulous and our skipper was very knowledgeable about the boat and the waters. She was also very knowledgeable about information in the area. I would highly recommend this trip.

About Taormina

Taormina is a hilltop town on Sicily's east coast, with an ancient Greek theatre facing Mount Etna, a main street of palazzi and sea views over the Ionian.

Taormina clings to the slopes of Monte Tauro, about 200 metres above the Ionian Sea, with Mount Etna smoking to the south-west. Its ancient theatre, begun by the Greeks in the 3rd century BC and later rebuilt by the Romans, still hosts concerts and performances, and from the upper rows Etna and the coast fill the view. The main street, Corso Umberto, runs between two town gates, past churches, palazzi and small shops, to Piazza IX Aprile, a terrace over the sea.
