Our experienced local guides are with you from pick-up to drop-off, offering their knowledge of the area, it's history, flaura & fauna. The day begins with a scenic drive around Lake Wanaka into the Matukituki Valley. After driving through several fords, we arrive at Raspberry Hut. From here, this guided hike begins along the banks of the Matukituki River. We enter Mt Aspiring National Park via a swing bridge, crossing the river. The walk steadily climbs through New Zealand Beech Rainforest with a wide variety of flaura & fauna. After walking for 2.5 hours, the forest drops away and we enter open ground. Here the beauty of Rob Roy Glacier unfolds. Take time to relax and enjoy one of the best views Mother Nature offers, whilst enjoying a gourmet packed lunch!

Ablauf
The day begins with a scenic drive around Lake Wanaka. Try to spot 'That Wanaka Tree', Ruby Island and more iconic locations!
We drive away from Wanaka passing under the shadow of the iconic Roy's Peak.
Our drive continues into the Matukituki valley, driving through several fords, we arrive at Raspberry Hut (an old shepherd’s hut). From here, the guided walk begins with a walk along the banks of the Matukituki River!
After entering Mt Aspiring National Park via a swing bridge across the river, the walk steadily climbs into a New Zealand Beech rainforest-with a wide variety of moss, ferns, shrubs and trees.
After walking for 2.5 hours, the forest drops away and we enter open ground of alpine herbs and flowers, and the glory of the Rob Roy Glaciers’ panorama unfolds. Here you take time to relax and enjoy one of the best views Mother Nature offers, while sitting and enjoying lunch.

About Wānaka
Wānaka is a lakeside town in New Zealand's Southern Alps, set below snowy peaks, a gateway to Mount Aspiring National Park and the ski fields.
Wānaka sits at the southern end of Lake Wānaka in the Otago region of the South Island, with mountains rising on every side. A path follows the lakefront past the lone willow that stands in the water, which has become a symbol of the town. Roys Peak, with its zigzag track, and Mount Iron give views over the lake and the valley. The town has cafés, galleries and a nearby wine region.
