5. Forte Garda, on Monte Brione above Riva del Garda, is an Austro-Hungarian fortification built between 1904 and 1907. It was part of the complex defensive system created to control Lake Garda and the access to Tyrol. During the First World War it played a strategic role. Today it preserves military galleries, stations, and environments overlooking the lake.

6. Forte San Nicolò, at the foot of Mount Brione in Riva del Garda, was built in the 19th century by the Austro-Hungarian Empire to control access to Alto Garda. It functioned both as a road barrier and as a coastal battery, also equipped with powerful spotlights to monitor the lake. Today is a precious testimony of the defensive system that protected the southern border of Tyrol.
