The original site of the building that Hernán Cortés ordered to build once he defeats the original settlers, responds in the first instance to the disposition of the city taken by the Spaniards: in its central nucleus the most important temples of the Mexica are located and in the sumptuous rooms of the most prominent leaders are nearby; that is to say, the marrow of Aztec power is located there. 4. A little more than half a century ago, the National Museum of Anthropology (MNA) is recognized as one of the most emblematic enclosures for the safeguarding of the indigenous legacy of Mexico. It stands as a symbol of identity and mentor of generations that seek to know their roots cultural. It is amazing the expertise of its construction, its innovative design, its art and its symbolism, which have given it a widely recognized personality around the world. Built in 1963 and 1964 in the Bosque de Chapultepec, by instuctions of the then President Adolfo Lopez Mateos who opened it in 1964.
