1. Perched atop the sea cliffs like a futuristic fairy-tale castle, the snow-white Casapueblo is a work of art and one of Uruguay’s top architectural landmarks. Visit the masterpiece—and former residence—of Uruguayan artist Carlos Páez Vilaró to see its museum, art gallery, and hotel.

2. Brava Beach (Playa Brava) has golden sands and surf-worthy waves, but the star attraction is Mario Irarrázabal’s sculpture. Punta del Este’s best-known landmark, the gigantic Hand of Punta del Este (La Mano de Punta del Este)—or simply los Dedos, meaning “the fingers”—is meant to symbolise a drowning swimmer and warn of the beach’s notorious waves.

3. Simple but striking, with its sky-blue and white façade; the Our Lady of the Candelaria Church is one of Punta del Este’s prettiest landmarks. Dating back to the mid-20th century, the church is dedicated to the patron saint of Punta del Este and is the town’s principal catholic church.

4. We stop at the Punta del Este lighthouse (1860) 25 meters high, the materials were brought from Europe.

5. One of the most characteristic points of the place and most visited. Luxurious yachts and sailboats are combined with artisanal fishermen who return from the sea and sell their fish. Due to the latter, large sea lions always come to wait for the fishermen to throw them leftover fish, so they are on the pier a few meters away from people, like "posing for a photo".

6. Playa Brava begins to the East of the Peninsula, with other characteristics that differentiate it from La Mansa. After visiting Los Dedos, just like we did at Playa Mansa, we will tour the entire boulevard and the adjacent neighborhoods such as San Rafael, Rincón del Indio, or Bevery Hills.

7. This is the main avenue of downtown Punta del Este. All the shops, restaurants, and several mini-shops with souvenirs, souvenirs, etc. are located on this avenue.

8. Thus we will arrive at the mouth of Arroyo Maldonado where on the other side of it is the La Barra. We will cross it through the famous undulating bridge and visit the commercial center, the small beaches and its narrow streets. This bridge is characterized by its undulating shape; it was inaugurated in 1965 by the civil engineer Leonel Viera.

Punta del Este occupies a narrow peninsula on Uruguay's coast, where the calm brown water of the River Plate meets the open Atlantic. Playa Mansa, on the river side, has gentle water, while Playa Brava, on the ocean side, has strong surf and wind. La Mano, a huge concrete hand rising from the sand on Brava beach, is the town's best-known sculpture. The harbour is full of yachts and fishing boats, and sea lions gather beside the fish sellers.
