Ablauf

  1. These famous rock formations in Capri are iconic symbols of the island’s beauty, rising from the deep blue Mediterranean. One of them has a natural arch, and boats often pass right through it. Cruising past the Faraglioni offers unforgettable views and a real sense of the island’s natural magic.

    30 Min.

  2. The grotto gets its name from the bright white limestone walls that catch the sunlight and fill the cave with a soft, glowing light. As the boat slips through the entrance, the clear turquoise water reveals the seabed below.

    30 Min.

  3. As the boat moves along the coast of Capri, the Punta Carena Lighthouse comes into view, standing tall against the sky. Its red and white stripes really pop in the sunlight, a striking contrast to the deep blue of the sea.

    15 Min.

  4. Jumping off the boat and swimming into the Green Grotto is an amazing feeling. The sunlight filters through the water and lights up the cave with a green glow.

    30 Min.

  5. To visit the famous Blue Grotto, you’ll hop onto a small rowboat. There’s usually a wait and the entrance fee is €18 per person.

    1 Std.

  6. As the boat moves through the clear waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea, you’ll see the coastline unfold—steep cliffs, quiet little coves, and lots of green, all so typical of the Amalfi Coast. Along the way, there are fishing villages tucked into the rocks and old watchtowers that still stand guard above the sea. Closer to Capri, the landscape shifts—the limestone cliffs get taller, and the island starts to feel almost unreal, rising straight out of the water.

About Salerno

Salerno is a port city at the eastern end of the Amalfi Coast, with a Norman cathedral, a palm-lined seafront and a castle on the hill above.

Salerno curves around a gulf with a long palm-lined waterfront, the Lungomare, and a medieval centre of narrow lanes behind it. The cathedral, begun in the eleventh century under the Norman duke Robert Guiscard, has an arcaded atrium and a tall bell tower, and the city was home to the Schola Medica Salernitana, one of the earliest medical schools in Europe. Above, Arechi Castle looks out over the bay.

Top-ranked sights in Salerno: Archaeological Park of Paestum (Parco Archeologico di Paestum), Salerno Cathedral (Duomo di Salerno).
