1. The Worlds Steepest Street - walk it, take photos or simply watch others antics at our 20 min stop here. You will also get to try a JAFFA - find out what that is on tour

   20 Min.

2. This is a favourite stop with a view over the entire city. Bex and her guides will explain the city& peninsula to you and even take photos for you all at this stop.

   15 Min.

3. The oldest gardens in NZ - take a walk with your guide to either see the Rhododendron Dell is Oct/Nov OR the native birds and a downhill stroll through the gardens to the Roses in the summer.

   1 Std.

4. You will be amazed at this architecture - the 2nd most photographed building in NZ. Full of porcelain and Royal Doulton - its definitely a picture not to be missed

   20 Min.

5. Travel over the high road enroute to the Castle. This high road allows for fantastic views and photos and we will ensure you all get a photo of you at our favourite stopping point. The Peninsula is a narrow windy piece of land so bring a sweater!

   10 Min.

6. Visit NZs only Castle Larnach Castle. You will arrive and be dropped to the door like royalty. Youl will have a chance to wander the gardens, take in the home and visit the ballroom

7. You will have 60 minutes of free time in the city to either eat lunch or find souvenirs the choice is all yours on how you spend it

  The tour guide tried to do too many stops and as a result was unsatisfactory time at certain highlight stops like the Botanical Garden

• 5Dunedin Tour

  A good tour of Dunedin by small bus. Our guide was knowledgeable about the sites we saw and we also had a short stay at the local castle with enough time to walk through the entire site.

  The views from the castle were absolutely stunning. Driving around the peninsula was breathtaking Trevor was a wonderful guide. He took us some very interesting places and explained a lot of “New Zealand” things to us. Trevor was very thoughtful guide. He asked us what we liked or wanted to see and what interests we had. Even though there were only 2 of us on the tour they still conducted the tour rather than canceling it!

• 1Wasted Day…Made us question using Viator again

  The tour operator never responded to pick up questions. Tried for two days to confirm and no response. Went into town as the reservation stated and the operator was not there. Called Viator and she got a hold of the driver who was at the ship, she also acknowledged that the operator never responded to our inquiries. After a 30 min phone call she finally arranged for the driver to pick us up. This was nearly two hours after the tour was to start, in the rain. The driver was not apologetic and the tour was not great. We zipped through things as we were “running late.” The lunch was awful, ham, Caesar salad that was soggy and had no flavor, the only thing that was ok was the sweet potatoes. We were told this was not the “normal “ lunch stop because there were too many pp in town and they were trying something new. Once we reached the castle (which was lovey) there was no guided tour because it was crowded and our driver/guide had to move the mini bus. If seeing Frat row at a college is exciting. This would be the tour for you.

• 5Fabulous day

  Although the start of the tour (the meeting points chaotic pick-up) was stressful, the rest of the tour made up for the inconvenience. Our tour guide and driver were excellent. So much was packed into our day including a very tasty, delicious lunch, we had a great time. We would highly recommend booking this tour if ever you're visiting Duneden.

Port Chalmers is the working harbour town of Otago, a small, hilly place of stone and wooden buildings on Otago Harbour, close to Dunedin.

Port Chalmers is a small port town on the northern shore of Otago Harbour, on the South Island's east coast, a short drive from the centre of Dunedin. Streets of weatherboard and stone buildings climb steep hillsides above a harbour filled with container ships, fishing boats and, in season, cruise ships. Scottish settlers landed here in 1848 to found the Otago settlement.
