Highlights

Discover a side of Japan few travelers experience at Mount Mitake, a sacred mountain steeped in nature and Shugendo spirituality. Journey to the summit via a local bus and an exciting cable car ride to enjoy an orientation with breathtaking panoramic vistas. Relax with a gentle outdoor breathing exercise in the fresh mountain air followed by a traditional matcha tea ceremony with wagashi sweets. Visit the historic Musashi Mitake Shrine to receive a rare and formal ritual blessing for your wishes from a Shinto priest.
