Highlights

Depart for Moremi Game Reserve. Moremi Game Reserve is widely considered one of the finest wildlife reserves in Africa. It has a diversity of habitats, combining acacia forests and mophane woodlands with floodplains and lagoons. Our drives will take us to the park’s most beautiful areas, such as Third Bridge, Bodumatau, and Dead Tree Island. The game is plentiful in these areas. Sightings include elephants, buffalo, giraffe, lions, hyenas, jackals, and many different antelopes, including the red lechwe and the shy sitatunga, a web-footed antelope perfectly adapted to life in the swamps. Wild dogs, whose numbers are rapidly dwindling elsewhere, are regularly sighted in the Moremi Game Reserve.

About Maun

Maun, on the edge of the Kalahari in northern Botswana, is the gateway town for the Okavango Delta and the wildlife reserves around it.

Maun lies on the Thamalakane River at the southern edge of the Okavango Delta, a dry-land town that has grown into the safari hub of Botswana. Its streets are low and spread out, with shops, markets and a busy airport where light planes leave for lodges and airstrips across the delta. It has long been the main town of the Batawana people and of the cattle country of Ngamiland.
