About El Paso
El Paso is a Texan border city on the Rio Grande opposite Ciudad Juárez, below the Franklin Mountains, with old missions, desert parks and Tex-Mex food.
El Paso lies in the far west of Texas, where Texas, New Mexico and the Mexican state of Chihuahua meet, on the Rio Grande opposite Ciudad Juárez. The Franklin Mountains rise inside the city, and Franklin Mountains State Park, one of the largest urban parks in the United States, has desert trails and views over the border. Downtown has the Plaza Theatre, a 1930 movie palace, and the old San Jacinto Plaza.
