About La Coruña
A Coruña, or La Coruña in Spanish, is a Galician port on a peninsula, with the Roman Tower of Hercules, glass-fronted galleries and Atlantic beaches.
A Coruña occupies a peninsula that juts into the Atlantic on the north-west coast of Spain, in Galicia. The Tower of Hercules, a lighthouse that has been guiding ships since Roman times, stands at its northern end and is a World Heritage site. In the centre, the white-framed glass galleries along the Avenida de la Marina have earned it the nickname City of Glass, and María Pita Square, with its grand town hall, is the main plaza.
