1. Upon arriving the mountains lake we will find a comfrotable place at the river side to enjoy the surrounded nature, taking photographs. You are welcome to bring some snacks with you. We can organise a picnic on your request. Or stop at a cafe along the way. Issyk (“a door” from the Kazakh language) is a picturesque, alpine lake surrounded by unusually beautiful nature with thick forests and spacious fields of flowers. The lake is located at an altitude of 1760 meters above sea level, in the Issyk gorge of Trans-Ili Alatau, about 70 km east of Almaty.

About Almaty

Almaty is Kazakhstan's largest city, set beneath the snow peaks of the Tian Shan, with leafy parks, Soviet-era monuments, cafés and mountain lakes nearby.

Almaty lies on a plain at the foot of the Trans-Ili Alatau, a range of the Tian Shan mountains, whose snowy peaks rise to the south. It was the capital of Kazakhstan until 1997, when the title passed to Astana, and it remains the largest city and the cultural centre. Wide avenues are shaded by poplars and elms, and Panfilov Park holds the brightly painted wooden Ascension Cathedral and a memorial to soldiers of the Second World War.
