The tour starts at Windsor Bridge and guides you through Eton’s storied past and vibrant present. As you walk up the High Street, you’ll pass ancient inns and distinguished tailors that have made Eton’s distinctive uniform for generations. You’ll see the grounds of Eton College, founded by King Henry VI in 1440, where princes, prime ministers, and poets have studied for nearly six centuries. About Windsor & Eton
Windsor and Eton face each other across the Thames west of London, one with a great royal castle and the other with a famous school.
Windsor Castle stands on a chalk ridge above the Thames and has been a royal residence for nearly a thousand years, making it the largest inhabited castle in the world. St George's Chapel, inside its walls, is a late-Gothic church with a fan-vaulted roof, the burial place of many monarchs and the setting for royal weddings. The Long Walk, a straight avenue of more than four kilometres, leads south from the castle into Windsor Great Park.
