Highlights

Driving away from the city center, you will greet your day-trip partner, a gentle and loving reindeer. Take a chance to get a reindeer sleigh driving license for your unforgettable trip in the Arctic, as the reindeer herder gives you the basic instructions. After the introductions, it is now the time for you to go on a sleigh ride in the arctic forests pulled by reindeer. Climb onboard a wooden sleigh, wrap yourself in blankets, and venture into the Arctic forest. The reindeer will take you to the forests covered in sparkling white, and you can enjoy the spectacular sights of the Lappish untouched wilderness as you snuggle on the warm sleigh. *Departure time may vary. Please check the email the local provider sends for the exact pick-up time.

About Rovaniemi

Rovaniemi, on the edge of the Arctic Circle in Finnish Lapland, is a river city known for Santa Claus Village, northern lights, reindeer and deep snow.

Rovaniemi is the capital of Finnish Lapland, set where the Kemijoki and Ounasjoki rivers join, just south of the Arctic Circle. The town was rebuilt after being burnt in the Second World War, and its street plan, drawn by the architect Alvar Aalto, is said to echo a reindeer's antlers. Arktikum, a museum and science centre, tells the story of life in the Arctic, and a lit footbridge known as the Lumberjack's Candle crosses the river.

Top-ranked sights in Rovaniemi: Arktikum, Santa Claus Office.
