Highlights
Experience several of Guanacaste’s outdoor activities in one guided day at the Colorado River Canyon. After pickup from selected hotels, travel to Cañon de la Vieja, where your guides will provide the necessary equipment and safety briefing before the activities begin. The experience combines a canopy zipline course through the canyon with rappelling and rock climbing, followed by a rafting section on the Colorado River. About Tamarindo
Tamarindo is a surf town on Costa Rica's Guanacaste coast, with a wide sandy bay, an estuary and a strip of beach bars looking west to the sunset.
Tamarindo grew from a fishing village into the main beach town of Guanacaste, with its beach, shops and restaurants strung along one main road. The bay has gentle waves for beginners, and surf schools line the sand, while more powerful breaks lie a short drive along the coast. The estuary at the northern end shelters mangroves where herons and the occasional crocodile are seen from kayaks.
