3. The adventure continues at Columbia Reef, another remarkable snorkeling area in Cozumel. 5. The final marine stop takes travelers to El Cielito (the sandbar), a shallow turquoise area known for its relaxed atmosphere and rays moving through the water. About Cozumel

Cozumel is a flat, reef-ringed island off Mexico's Yucatán coast, famed for diving, Maya ruins and calm turquoise water on its sheltered west side.

Cozumel lies about twenty kilometres off the Yucatán coast, a short ferry ride from Playa del Carmen. The main town, San Miguel, faces the mainland with a waterfront promenade, a plaza and small museums, while most of the island is flat jungle and quiet coast. The western side, where the sea is calm, holds the beach clubs and snorkelling spots, and the wild windward east coast has rough surf and empty sand.
