Start from Bayahibe aboard a Safari truck... You will then go to meet the cane cutters and their families, in the villages called Batey ... After the meal you will board a barge on the banks of the Chavon River, Let's go for a walk on the river where you can learn local dances... About La Romana
La Romana is a sugar town and resort base on the Dominican Republic's south-east coast, near Altos de Chavón, Saona Island and the beaches of Bayahíbe.
La Romana grew up around sugar, and the cane fields and mills of the surrounding plains remain part of the landscape. The city lies on the Caribbean coast of the south-east beside the Dulce River, with a small central park, a cargo port and a free zone where cigars are rolled.
