Højdepunkter

Speyer has been razed and rebuilt more times than almost any city on the Rhine, yet its Imperial Cathedral has stood watch since 1030. This self-guided audio tour leads you through the cathedral city's cobbled streets, past medieval gates and hidden courtyards, with engaging stories and quizzes bringing each landmark to life along the way. Explore at your own flexible pace, guided entirely by your smartphone: no app download, no physical guide, no fixed schedule. Just you, your headphones, and centuries of imperial history waiting to be uncovered.

About Heidelberg

Heidelberg is a university town on the Neckar in south-west Germany, with a ruined red-sandstone castle, an old stone bridge and a long main street.

Heidelberg sits where the Neckar leaves its wooded valley and enters the Rhine plain in Baden-Württemberg. The castle above the old town, built in red sandstone and left half ruined by French armies in the 1690s and a lightning strike in 1764, holds the Great Tun, a barrel that can hold over 200,000 litres of wine. The Old Bridge, with its twin-towered gate, crosses the river, and the Hauptstrasse runs for over a kilometre through the pedestrian old town.

Top-ranked sights in Heidelberg: Heidelberg Old Town (Altstadt), Karl-Theodor-Bridge (Alte Brucke), Market Square (Marktplatz).
