Rute
The Split walking tour is the first part of this private experience designed for cruise guests. Guests will be picked up by their driver-guide at Split Ferry Port, close to the cruise ship and passenger terminal area. From there, the tour continues into the historic heart of Split, focusing on Diocletian’s Palace and the old town. The walk begins with an introduction near the bronze model of Split Old Town on the Riva promenade. Guests then continue through the central part of the palace substructures, the Peristyle, the Cathedral of Saint Domnius and bell tower from the outside, the Temple of Jupiter from the outside, the Vestibule, Triclinium area, Silver Gate, Golden Gate and the statue of Gregory of Nin. After the Roman core, guests continue through Pjaca, the Jewish Passage with the nearby synagogue, Fruit Square, Marmontova Street, Prokurative and the area around St. Francis Church before returning toward the Riva promenade and continuing the tour toward Trogir.
The guests can have free time for relaxation and shopping if they desire.
On the way from Split toward Trogir, guests will pass near the remains of the ancient Roman aqueduct built to supply Diocletian’s Palace with fresh water. This is not a scheduled walking stop, but the driver-guide will briefly explain how water was brought from the Jadro River near Salona to the emperor’s palace in Split. This short drive-by connects the story of Diocletian’s Palace with the wider Roman infrastructure of the Split area.
On the way from Split toward Trogir, guests will pass through the Kaštela area without a scheduled stop. The driver-guide will briefly introduce the story of the seven historic Kaštela settlements built along the bay between Split and Trogir. Guests will hear how this coastal area developed around fortified residences, local communities, vineyards and trade routes. This scenic drive adds local context to the journey and connects the history of Split with the medieval town of Trogir.
After the drive from Split, guests will explore the historic town of Trogir on a guided walking tour. Built on a small island between the mainland and Čiovo, Trogir is known for its narrow stone streets, medieval squares, noble palaces, churches and relaxed waterfront atmosphere. The walk begins near the North Gate and continues toward the main square, where guests will see the Cathedral of Saint Lawrence and the famous Radovan Portal from the outside, together with the town loggia, clock tower and surrounding historic buildings. The driver-guide will explain Trogir’s development through antiquity and the Middle Ages, as well as its importance as a centre of trade, art and architecture. The tour continues through the old streets toward the waterfront promenade and the area around Kamerlengo Fortress.

About Split
Top-ranked sights in Split: Budikovac Island (Veliki Budikovac), Blue Lagoon Croatia (Krknjasi Bay), Peristyle Square (Peristil).
