Built into the cliffs of the Lousios Gorge, this serene and historic site offers spectacular panoramic views. 3. Next, we travel deeper into the heart of the Peloponnese to visit Moni Philosophou, also known as the "Philosopher’s Monastery." It is one of the oldest monasteries in Greece, founded in the 10th century. This monastery is split into two sections: the Old Monastery, hidden inside a cave, and the New Monastery, which was built in the 17th century. Here, we will also learn about the secret school (Krifo Scholio) that operated during the Ottoman occupation, where Greek children were secretly taught language and history to preserve their heritage.
