We will start our activity inside the Los Glaciares National Park, located 80 km from the city of El Calafate. The glaciers protected in this Park, generated centuries and even millennia ago, bear witness to the enormous masses of ice that dominated part of the planet during the last two million years and witnessed the birth of humanity. Los Glaciares National Park was created in 1937 and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1981. Upon arrival at the Park, we will have the opportunity to see the magnificent Perito Moreno Glacier. Optionally, you can choose to sail by boat. This undoubtedly complements your visit to be dazzled by the imposingness of its landslides, not only from the height of the walkways, but now from lake level: the front of the Glacier oscillates between 40 and 80 meters high above the lake level.
Prepare to be amazed by the main attraction of Los Glaciares National Park, declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. 4 hours to walk the walkways of the Perito Moreno Glacier This includes the arrival time of the hotels at the tourist point, as well as the return time to the door of your hotel.

4Great Tour, Incorrect Start Time
The tour itself was very good, and the one-hour boat ride gave a different perspective of Perito Moreno than the walking areas. My issue was the booking. I purchased a 12:00 PM tour about six weeks in advance, but the afternoon before I was told the only departure was at 9:10 AM. I contacted Viator for help getting in touch with the tour provider, but they didn’t assist. I adjusted my plans and still had a good experience, but the tour should have been sold with the correct start time, and Viator should do a better job assisting customers when issues like this come up.
5Fantastic experience
Really well done- guide was fantastic, as was the experience itself. Surpassed all expectations. It also helped that the weather cooperated and we had blue skies and clear visibility :)
5One of the best beautiful places I've ever seen
I always heard about Perito Moreno glacier. It's not the same seeing photos than being there. For me, was an experience of a lifetime; how intense and powerful the nature can be. The trails to see it from a high view are impressive. But when you take the navigation tour to see it in front of you is another thing. Each tour complement each other. Simply beautiful and impressive,
5Unlike anything else you’ve seen
Our tour guide, Maria, was excellent! She was very friendly and fun to talk to. She was very informative and helpful. Perito Moreno is absolutely stunning. It is absolutely worth paying the extra for the boat ride as it is the only way to get very close to the glacier. Plus, you get a different perspective than being up on the walkway. I also recommend using the orange and red walkways as you get the full view. It is worth every penny. We even had some bad weather at first because it’s winter, but it calmed down and once the boat stopped, we could see everything clearly and with no complaints. Gorgeous in every way!
5A great experience
The team of Carla the guide and Martin the driver was great. They picked us up from different hotels and were on time. Carla shared her knowledge of the area and was very helpful and kind. They took us to the entrance to the viewing balconies and recommended the better routes. We had enough time to walk around and we were picked up at the end of the tour there. Highly recommended.
5Incredible experience! A must see
The team who looked after us right from Julian in the shop in Calafate right through to the on bus team were excellent. The information provided and care taken by everyone was excellent and of course we got to see the most amazing glacier views from the boat and on the hike. An experience that both of us will remember for the rest of our lives thank you. Only disappointment was finding that the park entry cost (Arg Pesos 45,000) was extra. Other than this everything was excellent thank you Richard and Cathy White
El Calafate is a small Patagonian town on the shore of Lago Argentino, the base for the Perito Moreno Glacier and Los Glaciares National Park.
El Calafate lies on the south shore of Lago Argentino, a milky turquoise lake fed by glacial meltwater, with the Andes on the western horizon. The town is named after the calafate, a thorny shrub with dark berries, and a local saying promises that anyone who eats them will return to Patagonia. It was founded in the 1920s to serve the surrounding sheep estancias and now exists chiefly as the gateway to Los Glaciares National Park.
Top-ranked sights in El Calafate: Los Glaciares National Park (Parque Nacional Los Glaciares), Perito Moreno Glacier, Argentino Lake (Lago Argentino).
