Highlights: sightseeing the 14th-century Palace of the Grand Master, which at one time was the residence of the so-called Grand Master of the Teutonic Order visiting St. Mary’s Church watching the castle’s various permanent and temporary exhibitions like collection of weaponary, armor, flags and enormous Amber Museum.

About Gdańsk

Gdańsk is a Baltic port in northern Poland with a rebuilt Hanseatic old town, amber shops, a medieval crane and the shipyard where Solidarity began.

Gdańsk grew rich on the Baltic grain and timber trade, and its Main Town was rebuilt after the damage of the Second World War in the style of earlier centuries. The Long Market is the centre, with Neptune's Fountain and the Artus Court, and the gates at either end open onto the Motława River. St Mary's Church, one of the largest brick churches in the world, rises above the narrow houses.
