• 5Great tour of Old Town Gdansk

  Very informative guide and lovely tour. I recommend doing the tour at the beginning of the trip so in case you like to go back and visit some of the places you have time to do that. The guide spoke in a good tone. We could all hear him well. He waited for everyone to be ready to listen. Walking pace was pefect. The tour started at 9 am and ended at 11.45, not at 10.30 as scheduled. So if you have other plans you need to be aware that it may run long but you may leave at any point pf course.

About Gdańsk

Gdańsk is a Baltic port in northern Poland with a rebuilt Hanseatic old town, amber shops, a medieval crane and the shipyard where Solidarity began.

Gdańsk grew rich on the Baltic grain and timber trade, and its Main Town was rebuilt after the damage of the Second World War in the style of earlier centuries. The Long Market is the centre, with Neptune's Fountain and the Artus Court, and the gates at either end open onto the Motława River. St Mary's Church, one of the largest brick churches in the world, rises above the narrow houses.
