  1. Since 1847 the concert halls of Musis Sacrum and its surroundings had taken on a range of different forms and positions in the park that reflected the short time needs of its operators, city officials, and residents. The project consists of a renovation of the existing monument and a new extension with a long-term planning in mind. The extension features a large concert hall and supportive functions.

  2. St Agnes Convent was a religious house of the Sisters of the Common Life in the city of Arnhem, in the Duchy of Guelders, in the 15th and 16th centuries. At some point in the 15th century the community adopted the Third Rule of St Francis, later shifting to the Rule of St Augustine.

  4. The Sabelspoort (also known as Eusebiuspoort) is a city gate in Arnhem. The gate was first mentioned in 1357. Arnhem once had four city gates. More intriguing perhaps, visitors can also enter the crypt at the rear of the church which contains a number of full skeletons lying in state, in the darkness of the church's crypt.

About Arnhem

Arnhem is a city on the Nederrijn in the eastern Netherlands, with a Second World War bridge, an open-air museum, a zoo and the Veluwe woods behind it.

Arnhem lies on the Lower Rhine at the edge of the Veluwe, a large area of woods and heath, and its fashion shops and creative studios give it a youthful feel. The Eusebius Church, rebuilt after the damage of 1944, rises over the centre with a lift to the top of its tower, and the Sabelspoort is a surviving medieval gate. In September 1944 the city was the objective of the airborne Operation Market Garden, and the bridge fought over, now named for Colonel John Frost, still crosses the river.
