1. 6:30 a.m. Approx. Pick up from the comfort of your hotel or bus station, on the way there will be a stop to buy drinks and some food for the excursion. 7:30 am. approx. Departure to the Lost Canyon, we go to the South Pan-American Highway and then take the detour that will take us to the OCUCAJE Desert, after 02 hours approx we will be arriving at the crack that was formed by the riverbed and the capricious forms that has given the wind erosion. 09:00 a.m. m. approx. We will arrive at the Mirador del Cañon; where you will see the great crack that shows its extension and depth, which in turn serves as protection for the scavengers who are the guardians of this area. We will begin our walk along a sand path where you can also see some fossils and saltpeter that lead us to the water holes of this great canyon 150 meters deep and 1.5km long, the walk will be exciting. 11:00 am. Approx. We will move to the City of Ica. 15:00 approx. Arrival to Ica City, transfer to the hotel Ica.

• 2Update your itinerary. Beautiful spot, but not worth the trip out or the side stops at captive restaurant.

  Need to update their itinerary. Pickup was half an hour late even though we were first to be picked up. Then what was supposed to be a quick stop for snacks was a long breakfast at their restaurant. This was followed by a long drive on rutted dirt road to the canyon. The canyon itself was unique and beautiful. We enjoyed the walk and the explanations by the guide. Then back in the van for a couple more hours, and back to the same restaurant for a long lunch and pisco that was not in the itinerary. Arrived in Ica more than two hours after advertized.

  It was an amazing experience! Our guide was amazing and the place is gorgeous. Important to note that safety was always the first thought, very important!

  The accessibility. The trip was full of energy. They took good pictures of us, we are a couple. At the end, we had to leave the trip earlier due personal things and they helped us. Recommended

• 5The guide in the canyon was the best!!

  We visited the canyon with my girlfriend and we were really surprised by the large number of fossils and remains on the seabed. They are really worth the 02 hour trip, it is hot but it is pleasant. Sam and his entire team were very attentive at all times.

  Very nice people from Sam Travel Experiences. The driver brought us safe to the destination and our guide Maribel gave detailed and helpful informations about the canyon of the lost (also in English). I can definitely recommend it!

About Ica

Ica is a desert city on Peru's south coast, known for its vineyards and pisco, the nearby oasis of Huacachina and the Nazca Lines to the south.

Ica lies in a dry river valley on Peru's southern coast, a green strip of vineyards, cotton fields and orchards between the Pacific and the Andean foothills. The Ica Regional Museum holds mummies, textiles and trophy heads from the Paracas, Nazca and Inca cultures, and the colonial centre has a plaza with a cathedral. The region is one of Peru's centres of pisco, the grape brandy, and many bodegas on the roads around town make it.
