We will head southwest on Provincial Route 86, enjoying the landscapes of Cacheuta until we cross the tunnel that connects this town with Potrerillos. We will contemplate the wonderful view of the Cordón del Plata, Mendoza’s main source of water and, of the picturesque Potrerillos Dam, a mirror of crystalline water in the middle of mountains. We will continue, until we reach the town of Uspallata. Where we will make a strategic stop to get a better view of the Valley. Already back in the van, we will move a few kilometers, until we reach “Puente del Inca”. Mandatory stop icon of our mountain range. Once we return to the route, the Aconcagua Provincial Park awaits us. There we will obtain the corresponding permits to make a walk of approximately two hours, to the viewpoint of the Laguna de Horcones, where we can see the South Wall and the summit of the highest hill in America. *The route of the tour may be affected by road conditions during the winter due to weather conditions.

  1. We will head Southwest on route 86, crossing the tunnel at Cacheuta village to get to Potrerillos. Here we´ll see the wonderful view of the majestic Cordon del Plata Range, the main source of Mendoza’s water, and the picturesque Potrerillos Dam, a clear water mirror surrounded by mountains.

  2. The highlight of this adventure: the Aconcagua Provincial Park. We will get our permits with the Park Rangers, and start our one-hour hike, which will allow us to experience the surrealistic views of the highest peak in America, its flora, fauna, and beautiful sky. Not Included the entrance Park ticket (only argentinian pesos). All passengers must carry a passport

    Honestly one of the greatest day trips I’ve ever done! The majestic Andes were a sight to behold, it was perfect! I couldn’t recommend this tour more.

    Nice experience for all! Just note you will stay a long time inside the car travelling to the park. The stops help to get there and guides are very polite and experienced.

    My Guide is a mountain climber himself but he was also very knowlegable about the political and social history of the area and its border with Chile Our driver was a very even tempered man, always gregarious and helpful. I would gladly give this tour a 5 star rating but I believe there is always " room for improvement"

    Unforgettable day in the Aconcagua Park with Federico and Mauricio. This place is definitely one of the wonders of the world and Federico is not only an experienced mountain guide but also the local custodian and historian with endless knowledge abut the region. Whole family was happy and tired in the end and we got a good flavour of the beauty of Aconcagua - but now want to experience a longer stay up in the mountains for next time.

    Did the Aconcagua experience today with our driver Roberto and our guide Frederico. We were unsure whether to drive ourselves, get the bus to and from Aconcagua or do this experience and we are delighted we chose this experience. Great information throughout about the history and incredible views at Aconcagua. Highly recommend this activity!

About Mendoza

Mendoza is a wine city of tree-lined avenues and irrigation channels on a dry plain, with the high Andes rising to the west.

Mendoza was largely rebuilt after the earthquake of 1861, which is why its streets are wide and its squares open. Plane trees shade the pavements, watered by old irrigation channels called acequias. Plaza Independencia sits at the centre with four smaller squares around it, and the great Parque General San Martín climbs to the Cerro de la Gloria, a monument with a view over the city.
