5Good tour of Messina
We booked the 10:30 tour. We were on a cruise ship. Pick up was at the port inside security. The only thing was that we went out early to Messina and had to walk back to the ship thru a separate entrance to renter the pick up point. Otherwise pick up was easy. The tour walked along the shoreline, up into town to a family owned Puppet museum and back to the Duomo where we saw the clock go off at noon. It ended at a sweet shop where you could have a cannoli or granita. Both were delicious. The pace was good. Julia, the guide, was excellent. Knowledgeable and informative. She recommended a lunch spot close to the port which was very good. She also gave us directions to the supermarket. It was a good day!
4Loved the tour. The cathedral was beautiful. Guide was knowledgeable! Only issue was he spoke too fast.
Very good walking tour to learn historical facts. Saw really cool sites and guide took his time explaining things.
5Best connolo
Roberto was amazing! Very knowledgeable and fun. He provided us with a great mix of history and culture of Messina. The food was so good. The best connolo and arancini we have ever tasted. It was a great tour and we highly recommend.
5Messina Walking Tour
Claudio was a wonderful guide, very informative. We learned a lot in a short period of time. We enjoyed ending our tour with the yummiest lemon granita and chocolate cannoli.
5The Magic of Messina
Great overview of the beautiful city of Messina! We got to see the amazing astronomical clock work its magic at noon and ended our tour with a tasty treat. Great way to experience the city!
5Wonderful

About Messina
Messina, in north-east Sicily, is a port city on the Strait of Messina, facing Calabria across a narrow stretch of fast-flowing water.
Messina occupies the north-east tip of Sicily, where the strait is only a few kilometres wide and ferries cross constantly to the Italian mainland. An earthquake and tsunami in December 1908 destroyed most of the city, so its centre was rebuilt with wide streets and low buildings. The cathedral, rebuilt after the earthquake and again after wartime damage, has a bell tower with a large astronomical clock whose mechanical figures move at noon.
Top-ranked sights in Messina: Fountain of Neptune (Fontana di Nettuno), Bell Tower and Astronomical Clock (Orologio Astronomico), Church of the Santissima Annunziata dei Catalani (Chiesa della Santissima Annunziata dei Catalani).
