• 5Amazing First Scuba Experience

  Amazing!! We booked directly with Richard before we flew out to Cyprus and then on the day we had Dawn and Norman for our instructors. They were so much fun, they were patient and kind. I was really impressed as it cost €75 each. We were collected from our hotel, went to the dive centre and went through the safety and equipment. Then back in the truck, down the road to a small bay where you get all the kit and then into the water. Its done in stages, in the shallow waters at first then you go further out. It was just myself and my husband who went so having that 1:1 ratio made all the difference. My husband isn't as confident in the water but Dawn and Norman made him feel safe. We were in the water for almost an hour (it said 40mins on the booking) so that was an added bonus. Then we went back to the dive centre and were then dropped back to the hotel. Theres no need to worry about taking photos as thats all done for you. I was really impressed with not only the amount but the variety of photos that were taken, including candid shots and photos of some of the fish we encountered which was cool. As an added touch, Richard was aware my birthday was in a few days, they had taken a birthday banner on the dive and surprised us with it. We received the photos/videos later on the evening. This has been a lifelong dream to try scuba diving and it definitely didnt disappoint. Our scuba cherry has definitely been popped and I'm currently looking at all the certifications now.

• 5Advanced open water course.

  I had 4 amazing dive days with Sirens over the past week. I progressed my PADI course from open water to advanced open water with the siren team. I even managed to dive to some amazing wrecks. The Zenobia is a must. I will be back next year to visit this wreck again. The team were patient and explained everything clearly and I would recommend anyone visiting the island and thinking of scuba diving to visit Richard and the team. First class experience.

• 5Sirens; Simply the best

  Dawn from Sirens is an absolutely brilliant diving instructor. She is patient, kind and serene. The last time that I scuba dived was 37 years ago. I have been on two try dives with her and have booked a third. The first dive, I was panicky and really not good at all. But Dawn kept me calm and I managed to dive to Fish Rock in Green Bay. The second dive, I was much better and managed to dive the rock and the statues in Green Bay. Again, all thanks to Dawn. I am so excited for my third dive. I cannot recommend Sirens enough. They are, simply the best.

  Our 3rd and 4th dive with Sirens. An absolutely great business with very friendly and knowledgable instructors. Thanks to Dawn, Norman and Shaun - our wonderful guides this time. Thanks Richard (owner) for giving us a great experience again. Would recommend Sirens to anyone.

• 5Discovery Scubadive Experience

  Absolutely fantastic experience from Richard and the team! Richard picked us up from our accommodation and filled us in with everything we should expect even before the briefing, which immediately made us feel comfortable and confident that we were in safe hands. Shaun, Steve and Lewis, who took us down after the briefing, were absolutely brilliant. A special mention has to go to Shaun, who was fantastic with our 10-year-old. He was really nervous at the beginning and understandably apprehensive about getting into the water, but Shaun was incredibly patient, reassuring and supportive throughout. He took the time to build his confidence and make sure he was comfortable rather than rushing him. The transformation was amazing — by the end of the dive, he looked like he’d been doing it for years! Seeing his confidence grow throughout the experience was honestly one of the highlights for us, and that’s a huge credit to Shaun. Steve also deserves a special mention for how professional he was during the briefing. This was one of his first briefings as part of his Master training, but you genuinely wouldn’t have known it. He was confident, knowledgeable, clear and extremely professional throughout, which really helped put everyone at ease. It was great to see someone progressing through their training while already demonstrating such a high level of professionalism. Lewis was also fantastic in the water, and the whole team worked brilliantly together. Everyone was friendly, knowledgeable and professional, whilst still making the experience fun and relaxed. We felt completely safe from start to finish and never felt rushed or pressured. We honestly couldn’t recommend Siren Diving highly enough, especially for families or anyone who may be nervous about trying scuba diving for the first time. An absolutely brilliant experience from start to finish, and one we’ll definitely remember. Thank you Richard, Shaun, Steve, Lewis and the whole team!

About Protaras

Protaras is a quieter neighbour of Ayia Napa on the east coast of Cyprus, known for sheltered Fig Tree Bay and a shore of small rocky coves.

Protaras grew up along the east coast of Cyprus, in the Famagusta District, a few kilometres north of Ayia Napa and within the municipality of Paralimni. Its main strip runs behind Fig Tree Bay, a curve of soft sand with shallow, clear water and a promenade of cafés. Pernera lies to the north, and Konnos Bay, a small cove between pine-covered cliffs, to the south.
