1. Visit one of the largest and most important Mayan places in Central America. Once we are in the Park let your imagination fly, we'll enter a mysterious world where there are more than 3000 structures and only 30% of them are discovered. We'll tell you how the Mayans lived as we'll pass through the Palaces of the Mayan Aristocracy, we'll teach you what their values ​​were, their structure, their religion. We'll arrive at the Central Park where you'll get to know the spectacular Pyramid symbol of Guatemala: The Great Jaguar and you'll be able to go up to the Temple of the Masks: The Temple 2. Then we'll continue our journey in El Mundo Perdido to understand where the City started and the calculation accuracy of the ancient civilization. But it does not end here!!! We'll finish the tour climbing one of the highest pyramids in the world: Temple IV, with a height of 64 meters, which has been used as a stage for several films, one of them the first Star Wars movie of 1977, as well as the eleventh James Bond movie of 1979. After 3 to 4 hours of tour we'll end up delighting with typical Guatemalan food in the best restaurant of the Park. Discover the history of the Mayans and delve into their culture where science, mathematics, wars, arranged marriages between families, religious sacrifices and their impressive capacity to build make us understand how this civilization was one of the most important the history of mankind.

• 5Wonderful tour!

  We had and AMAZING time, would 100% recommend to anyone. We did the sunset tour and although we booked with a group, we ended up being the only ones. Our tour guide Obdulio was increible, super nice, very knowledgeable and had wonderful English. From the moment we got in the van, he started teaching us all about Tikal, Petén, Guatemala and more. Our lunch was great and in a beautiful little restaurant, quite big and even included a little dessert :) loved not having everything all organized already!

  Omar was an amazing guide. He was friendly, easy to understand and shared a wealth of knowledge covering much more than the ancient history of Tikal. He knew how to avoid the crowds. We were very happy we took this tour.

  Unreal sunrise tour. Our guide, Nate, was knowledgeable, polite, and funny! He really made the whole trip special. We saw the Tikal ruins and the history came alive in front of us. Plus we saw monkeys!

• 2Too over price.

  Learn from my mistake: don’t book your Tikal tour with this company. They charge premium prices for basically the exact same experience you can get from local tour agencies, hotels, or hostels in Flores for almost half the cost. The only real extras with Tikal Go are a smaller group size and a good tour guide. They also include a basic breakfast — 2 chicken sandwiches, 1 boiled egg, 1 apple, and a small bottle of water. But honestly, that still doesn’t justify paying an extra $60–$80 compared to other tours offering nearly the same experience. Save your money and book your tour once you arrive in Flores. Plenty of local agencies and hostels offer similar tours for much cheaper.

About Flores

Flores is a small island town in Lake Petén Itzá in northern Guatemala, the main base for the Maya ruins of Tikal and the Petén rainforest.

Flores sits on a small island in Lake Petén Itzá, joined to the shore by a short causeway, with cobbled lanes circling a hilltop plaza and a cathedral. It stands on the site of Nojpetén, the last capital of the Itza Maya, which held out against the Spanish until 1697. The island is ringed with small hotels and lakeside restaurants, and boats cross to lakeshore villages.
