As you exit the chasm you’re instantly transfixed by the beauty of Petra, chosen as one of the New World Wonders, the place speaks for itself. After your time at Petra, you make your way back through the Siq and head to the car witch will be waiting for you at the entrance parking. Finally, you will be driven back to your hotel in Aqaba.

About Aqaba

Aqaba is Jordan's only seaport, a warm Red Sea resort town at the head of its gulf, backed by desert mountains and near Wadi Rum and Petra.

Aqaba sits at the head of the Gulf of Aqaba, at the north end of the Red Sea, with the mountains of Edom behind it and Israel, Egypt and Saudi Arabia on the other shores of the gulf. Jordan's only seaport, it has been a trading place since ancient times, and an early Islamic city, Ayla, has excavated remains on the seafront. The fort near the harbour dates from the Mamluk period, and Aqaba fell to the forces of the Arab Revolt in 1917.
