The bridge that is open only for pedestrians allows visitors to enjoy the view to the river and Bagrati Cathedral. Substituting wooden bridge that was damaged by flood in 1860, in 1872 iron parts was collecting from France. Because of the color it had bridge was named - White. About Kutaisi
Kutaisi is one of Georgia's oldest cities, a former royal capital on the Rioni River with a ruined cathedral, hillside monasteries and a covered market.
Kutaisi, the main city of Imereti in western Georgia, was once the capital of the kingdom of Western Georgia and is linked by legend with Aia, the land of Jason and the Golden Fleece. The Rioni River runs through the centre, and the Colchis Fountain, with gilded animals, stands on one of its squares. The Bagrati Cathedral, an eleventh-century church on a hilltop, was ruined by the Ottomans in 1692 and rebuilt in modern times.
