Depart from Albufeira Marina on board a yacht and cruise west along the southern coastline of Portugal. Learn about the places and sights that you pass by from the skipper and crew. About Albufeira

Albufeira is a former fishing town on Portugal's Algarve coast, with whitewashed old streets, sandy coves below red cliffs and a long summer season.

Albufeira was a fishing town under Moorish rule, its name coming from the Arabic for a lagoon, and its old town still climbs a hill above the water in a tangle of whitewashed alleys and arches. A tunnel leads down to the Fishermen's Beach, where boats once landed their catch, and the clock tower and parish church stand in the centre.
