1. The Christ Church (or Christuskirche) is a Lutheran church in centre of Windhoek, and has become one of the most iconic landmarks for the city. Here you will have the chance to learn about the fascinating history of this church, and time permitting, look inside.

2. One of the most beautiful (and green) gardens in Windhoek lies at the base of the Tintenpalast, Namibia's Parliament Building in the city centre. The gardens itself are now home to 3 statues of iconic who were instrumental in gaining Namibia's independence. 3. A recent addition to the Namibian skyline, the National Museum of Namibia, is home to a rich collection of artifacts from colonial to modern day Namibia.

4. This old fort is said to be Windhoek's very first building, and was used by the German army to defend their hold on the city. In more recent times, it was a museum, but now stands empty, however it's rich history still make it worth a visit.

5. Explore the township of Katutura, visit the local market and meet the local people

  It was a great 4 hour trip around Windhoek & Katutura township, Luigi who was very knowledgeable & informative took us to all the best tourist locations and we really enjoyed visiting a market in Katutura where we really enjoyed the shisa nyama.

About Windhoek

Windhoek is Namibia's compact capital on a high central plateau, with German colonial buildings, craft markets and wild country in every direction.

Windhoek lies about 1,650 metres above sea level in the middle of Namibia, ringed by hills and thorn bush. It began as a German colonial post in the 1890s, and the Christuskirche, a Lutheran church of 1910 in pale sandstone, and the Alte Feste, an old fort that is now a museum, recall that period. The Tintenpalast, the seat of parliament, stands in a garden, and Independence Avenue runs through the centre.
