Walk Valletta like it was meant to be explored, through winding alleys and under cannon-scarred bastions with this self-guided tour. Discover the power plays, legends, and quiet corners of the fortress city that most visitors miss. On this tour, you’ll trace the footsteps of the Knights of St. John through majestic stops like the Grandmaster’s Palace and St. John’s Co-Cathedral, hear about WWII-era bunkers and pause in places where legends of sieges and saints still echo. Along the way, you’ll catch interesting stories like tactics used in the sieges, and the controversy behind a parliament building. Unlike group tours, this experience lets you move at your own pace. You can linger in gardens, enter a site, or skip ahead. Carefully curated for first-time visitors and history lovers, it balances major landmarks with lesser-known gems. Over 20,000 travelers have used our tours world-over with confidence, and every booking comes with a full refund guarantee if not satisfied.

Valletta is Malta's tiny walled capital on a rocky peninsula, built by the Knights of St John with baroque palaces, a deep harbour and a Caravaggio.
Valletta was founded in 1566 by the Order of St John, a year after the Great Siege of Malta, and laid out on a grid of streets on a narrow peninsula between two harbours. The whole city is a World Heritage site. St John's Co-Cathedral looks plain outside but is gilded within, and holds Caravaggio's Beheading of Saint John the Baptist. The Grand Master's Palace and the Upper Barrakka Gardens look over Grand Harbour.
Top-ranked sights in Valletta: Upper Barrakka Gardens, St. John's Co-Cathedral (Kon-Katidral ta' San Gwann), Grand Master's Palace.
