The underground caves are one of the most amazing visits to take on Terceira Island. The first stop of the tour will be at a secret place called Lagoa das Patas. In this place it is possible to visit the stream that originates from Serra de Sta Bárbara, visit the Lagoon and interact with animals such as ducks and some birds. It is a leisure area full of life and nature!
Here we will visit the famous Gruta Natal and Lagoa do Negro. At this stop, you have the opportunity to walk through lava tunnels made by mother nature and see Lagoa do Negro up close.
Furnas do Enxofre is made up of an area that comprises several outlets of aggressive volcanic gases at different temperatures, some quite high. It has a small pedestrian trail that allows you to observe the sulfur smoke up close.
We visited the interior of a volcano in the center of Terceira Island! An unforgettable experience to remember for the rest of your life.

Terceira is a volcanic island in the Azores, with the World Heritage town of Angra do Heroísmo, a lava-tube cave and fields bounded by stone walls.
Terceira lies in the central group of the Azores, an island of green pasture divided by black basalt walls. Angra do Heroísmo, the main town on the south coast, was once an important Atlantic port, and its old centre of pastel houses and churches is a UNESCO site. A fortress crowns Monte Brasil, the volcanic peninsula at its edge. Praia da Vitória, on the east coast, has the island's main sandy beach.
