Højdepunkter

Why You’ll Love This Chopstick Making Experience Discover Japanese culture in a hands-on way by crafting your own pair of chopsticks in Nara. Instead of buying a souvenir, you will carve, shape, and polish natural wood to create chopsticks made by your own hands. You can choose the length and thickness to perfectly fit your hands, making them both practical and personal. With friendly step-by-step guidance, even beginners can enjoy the experience comfortably. Your finished chopsticks can be taken home the same day and used daily, bringing back memories of your trip with every meal. This is more than a workshop—it is a meaningful cultural experience that turns a simple utensil into a lasting travel memory.

About Nara

Nara, in the Kansai region, was Japan's capital in the eighth century and is now a city of great Buddhist temples and free-roaming deer.

Nara was the capital, Heijo-kyo, from 710 to 784, and its monuments from that age make up a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Todai-ji temple houses a bronze Great Buddha in one of the largest wooden buildings in the world. Around it spreads Nara Park, where more than a thousand sika deer roam freely and bow for crackers sold at stalls.

Top-ranked sights in Nara: Toshodaiji Temple.
