5Perfect tour for day in Kilkenny
Excellent tour through Kilkenny and Joe was great at showing us all the historic spots as well as letting us know of future plans for the area and museum. We were the only ones in our group so that helped keep it flowing and able to ask questions about are interest in the history. Would recommend when visiting!
5Brilliant Medieval Mile Museum
We have visited the Medieval Mile Museum each September since its opening with 4th year BSc honours architectural technology students from SETU Carlow campus . The museum and the guided tour is fantastic . The museum is a world class example of an architectural conservation and adaption project. The guided tours with John and Joe explain Kilkenny’s development and history . I would highly recommend a visit to a beautiful place in a beautiful historic city.. 5Fascinating introduction to Kilkenny history
Kilkenny has a fascinating history, and this is a great way to get a short intro to it. Just one hour, in a spectacular medieval church/museum, with expertly told stories that weave you into the great history.
5Fantastic walking tour
This was a wonderful guided tour of the town of Kilkenny. Our guide was a fantastic historian and took us through a 90 minute walk through town. We learned a lot and really enjoyed listening to him. This is well worth the time!

About Kilkenny
Kilkenny is a medieval city on the River Nore in south-east Ireland, with a Norman castle, a round tower and narrow lanes called slips.
Kilkenny grew along a ridge above the River Nore, and the Medieval Mile links its Norman castle at one end with St Canice's Cathedral at the other. The castle, rebuilt many times, was the seat of the Butler family for centuries and now has a picture gallery and rose gardens. St Canice's has a medieval round tower that can be climbed for a view of the roofs.
