  • 5Doggies! Snow! Sled Rides! FUN!!

We did a 2-mile "Sampler" experience, and had such fun. The dogs were so friendly and eager for pets -- and then to run! Oh, you could see they just got so much joy out of the run! This was our first time, and I was the one standing on the back of the sled as my husband has a bad knee so we had him sit on the front. It took me a little bit to get adjusted to that, and not to be skittish about going around a curve or over a bump, but after awhile it seemed natural and I began to really enjoy being out on the trail, across the snow, and among the trees. It was COLD though! (mid March 2026, apparently one of the coldest winters in years), but the Kennel keeps warm things on hand to loan if you don't have sufficient for yourself. This is great fun and I do highly recommend!

  • 5Exhilarating experience

Excellent experience with Joe as our musher. The ride itself was exhilarating with a variety of conditions and scenery. Being able to stand behind the musher gives you a feeling of truly sledding. The team was friendly and enjoyed interacting with us. Information shared by Joe, an Iditarod veteran, added to the trip.

  • 5Great Experience

This was a perfect experience. It was 30 minutes which was just enough for a sample without getting cold. If you don't have your own gear, they have gear there to outfit you for your ride. Our musher, Luther, was very informative and friendly. If we were here longer we probably would have repeated the experience.

  • 54th Visit: Never gets old.

This was our fourth time to Trail Breaker Kennel. We bring family or friends here when they come to Fairbanks to visit. There are so many options, we’ve tried many of them, Trail Breaker is the only one we return to. Absolutely our favorite brand place. You won’t be disappointed. The people are amazing. The scenery is incredible. The location is easy and convenient to Fairbanks. The experience is worth every penny. Book it.

About Fairbanks

Fairbanks, in Alaska's interior, is a river town on the Chena, a gateway to the Arctic with long summer days, winter auroras and gold-rush history.

Fairbanks lies in the broad Tanana Valley of interior Alaska, on the Chena River, roughly 200 kilometres south of the Arctic Circle. It began as a trading post in 1901 and boomed after gold was found nearby in 1902; its mining past is shown at Pioneer Park, with its old buildings and sternwheeler. The University of Alaska Fairbanks is home to the Museum of the North, with Alaska Native art and natural history.
