Klungkung, Bali’s capital city from 17th to 19th century when Dutch invaded. The most visible memory of the Klungkung Kingdom is the remains of the palace with the most significant being Kerta Gosa, the court of the high king. Klung Klung Market is a mix of old and new. The new section has stores with beautiful Balinese fabrics, Balinese traditional clothing and gold jewellery. There is also a food court selling local food for both eat in and take away. The old section has fruit, vegetables, daily needs, shoes and clothing.
