We start at the majestic Plaza de España and continue to the old Santo Domingo sundial. During the walk you will know the historic Museum of the Royal Houses and the solemn Pantheon of the Fatherland. We will walk along the emblematic Calle Las Damas, considered the first street on the continent, until we reach the imposing Ozama Fortress. The tour continues through important colonial buildings such as the Casa de los Conquistadores, the majestic Primada Cathedral of America, the historic Hospital San Nicolás de Bari (first stone hospital of the New World) and the ruins of the Monastery of San Francisco. Finally, we visit the emblematic Casa del Cordón, one of the oldest colonial residences in the city. A tour full of history, architecture and culture in the heart of Santo Domingo.

About Santo Domingo

Santo Domingo, the Dominican capital, has a UNESCO-listed colonial quarter of stone churches, forts and cobbled streets beside the Ozama River.

The Zona Colonial of Santo Domingo is one of the oldest European towns in the Americas, a grid of stone streets laid out in the early sixteenth century. Calle Las Damas runs past the Fortaleza Ozama, a fortress above the river. The Catedral Primada de América, begun soon afterwards, is the oldest cathedral in the Americas, and the Alcázar de Colón, a palace built for Columbus's son Diego, overlooks Plaza de España.
