After meeting the guide, you'll see intriguing places such as the Forum, which was once the center of Pompeii’s political and social life; the Thermal Baths, the city's ancient public baths; and the Lupanare, the city’s former official brothel that was used by many traders from surrounding towns. Before returning to Salerno, admire the House of Vetti, a remarkably well-preserved house excavated from the eruption featuring beautiful frescoes. About Salerno

Salerno is a port city at the eastern end of the Amalfi Coast, with a Norman cathedral, a palm-lined seafront and a castle on the hill above.

Salerno curves around a gulf with a long palm-lined waterfront, the Lungomare, and a medieval centre of narrow lanes behind it. The cathedral, begun in the eleventh century under the Norman duke Robert Guiscard, has an arcaded atrium and a tall bell tower, and the city was home to the Schola Medica Salernitana, one of the earliest medical schools in Europe.
