Cruise a unique river in the heart of the world’s oldest demarcated wine region and also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Start from Pinhão, passing under the iron bridge designed by Gustavo Eiffel, and continue towards the area of Roncão, where you will make half the turn to return to Pinhão. Along the way, contemplate the hills of vineyards on terraces to the river, without passing national highways and without encountering any traffic in sight. Although you will travel the same way back and forth, the impression will be that you have gone through two distinct paths, since the views provided and the milestones seen are completely different. The traditional rabello boats have open and closed areas, so the sailing will be totally comfortable in all types of climates, all year round. About Pinhão
Pinhão is a small river village in Portugal's Douro Valley, at the heart of the terraced port-wine vineyards, with a railway station covered in blue tiles.
Pinhão sits on the north bank of the Douro river in northern Portugal, where the steep valley sides are cut into terraces of vines. This is the heart of the Alto Douro Wine Region, where port is made, first marked out as a wine area in the eighteenth century and now listed by UNESCO. The railway station is covered with panels of blue-and-white azulejo tiles showing the grape harvest and local scenes, and trains of the Douro line run along the river.
