About Cannes

Cannes is a Riviera resort on the Mediterranean, with a palm-lined seafront, a film festival, an old hilltop quarter and ferries to the Lérins islands.

Cannes curves around a sandy bay on the French Riviera, with a wide seafront boulevard, La Croisette, lined with palm trees and grand hotels. The Palais des Festivals, near its western end, hosts the international film festival each May, and film stars' handprints are set in the pavement outside. The old quarter of Le Suquet climbs a hill above the old port, with narrow lanes, a church and a museum in a medieval castle.
