5. Next up is the beautiful town of Tejeda, in the center of Gran Canaria. Some time ago it was voted one of the most beautiful villages in Spain. In addition, Tejeda is known for its almond specialties, which we are happy to try. Every year, at the beginning of February, the Almond Blossom Festival also takes place there.

7. The landscape and especially the vegetation changes completely. From the rather dry center and south of the island we come down through fragrant pine forests through chestnut groves and the last remnants of the laurel forests of Gran Canaria. The destination is the pilgrimage site of Teror, known for its pedestrian streets with many wooden balconies and the imposing church. We enjoy the time in town and stroll through the old streets around the church square.
