As the sun sets over Yellowstone’s dramatic landscapes, you’ll have the chance to observe and learn about wolves, bears, elk, moose, coyotes, bald eagles, badgers, and more from an expert naturalist guide. This sunset safari offers incredible opportunities for photography and wildlife viewing during one of the most active times of day for animals. Whether you're a first-time visitor or returning to Yellowstone, this relaxing, educational evening tour offers a unique perspective of the park.
Yellowstone National Park is a nearly 3,500-sq.-mile wilderness recreation area atop a volcanic hot spot. Mostly in Wyoming, the park spreads into parts of Montana and Idaho too. Yellowstone features dramatic canyons, alpine rivers, lush forests, hot springs and gushing geysers, including its most famous, Old Faithful. It's also home to hundreds of animal species, including bears, wolves, bison, elk and antelope.
Located in the northeastern corner of the park, the Lamar Valley, along the Lamar River, in is often called America’s Serengeti for its large and easy-to-see populations of large animals. Among its most famous inhabitants are the Junction Butte Wolf Pack Members; wolf enthusiasts gather with spotting scopes most days hoping to see these impressive canines in action. In addition to wolves, other animals roaming the Lamar include large herds of bison, pronghorn, badgers, grizzly bears, bald eagles, osprey, deer, and coyotes.
For our evening wildlife tours departing from West Yellowstone, we’ll make our way toward Hayden Valley and along the East Entrance Road, two excellent areas for searching for Yellowstone’s incredible wildlife. As the temperatures begin to cool in the evening, wildlife often becomes more active, giving us opportunities to look for animals such as bison, elk, bears, wolves, coyotes, and other species that call the park home. Our guides will use their knowledge of recent wildlife activity and current conditions to determine the best areas to explore, allowing us to make the most of the evening and provide the best possible wildlife viewing experience.

Gardiner is a small Montana town on the Yellowstone River at the north entrance to Yellowstone National Park, by a stone arch and near hot springs.
Gardiner sits where the Gardner River flows into the Yellowstone River, on the northern edge of Yellowstone National Park in southern Montana. A stone arch, the Roosevelt Arch, stands at the park entrance, built in 1903 and carved with words describing the park as for the benefit and enjoyment of the people. The town is small, with log buildings, a main street and a few restaurants, hemmed in by mountains.
