1. During your call at Kuşadası Port, you can tailor your private Ephesus tour by choosing one of three options. Please advise your choice when booking so we can plan in advance. Option 1: Ephesus – Temple of Artemis – House of Virgin Mary Visit the main highlights of ancient Ephesus, then continue to the Temple of Artemis and finish at the House of Virgin Mary, an important pilgrimage site. Option 2: Ephesus – Archaeological Museum – Terrace Houses Explore Ephesus, then visit the Ephesus Archaeological Museum and the richly decorated Terrace Houses, once home to the city’s wealthy citizens. Option 3: Ephesus – Şirince Village – House of Virgin Mary Combine Ephesus and the House of Virgin Mary with a visit to Şirince, a charming hillside village where you can stroll, taste local wines and shop. Enjoy a traditional Turkish lunch and a brief visit to see local handicrafts. At the end of the day, return comfortably to your hotel or cruise ship.

  Lovely experience filled with history and culture. Lots of historical sites to visit. Or guide Ms Irem was the best. Excellent knowledge of the area and places to visit and eat.

• 4A great day out

  Erman, our guide, was excellent, and he made our visit to Ephesus an outstanding experience. We also visited Sirince, which was delightful, and not at all busy when we were there. We anticipated lunching at one of the lovely restaurants there, but instead were whisked away to one of those places that caters en masse for visitors, which was very disappointing. Erman offered to show us a local pottery and Turkish Delight emporium, but it had been a very hot day at Ephesus, so we contented ourselves with stopping at the Temple of Artemis before returning to our ship. Apart from lunch, the organisation of the day was excellent.

• 5Great tour

  We had a wonderful tour that included Ephesus and Sirince and the Temple of Artemis. Our tour guide Begu was great and provided a very entertaining description of the sights in Ephesus, lots of information but not boring. We saw a coffee making demo and rug making demo then had a delicious lunch. This was our first time in Turkey and we thoroughly enjoyed it thanks to Begu.

  This was a top notch tour from beginning to end. Picked us up at the exact time we requested. Our guide spoke fluent English and was a wealth of knowledge of both Ephesus and of the local area. We were suprised on the way back with a complementary lunch and presentation on how Turkish carpets are made. -- an opportunity to buy yes, but absolutely no sales pressure. You cant go wrong choosing this tour.

About Selçuk

Selçuk is a small Aegean town beside ancient Ephesus, with a hilltop fortress, a lone column of the Temple of Artemis and a hill village nearby.

Selçuk is a small town in İzmir Province, about three kilometres from the ruins of Ephesus, one of the great cities of the Roman east, with the Library of Celsus, a huge theatre and streets lined with columns. In Selçuk itself a single column marks the site of the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world. The Basilica of St John stands on Ayasuluk Hill below a Byzantine fortress, and the İsa Bey Mosque dates from 1375.
